A Positive Attitude
I come across a lot of interesting people on a daily basis. Their stories and life paths are unique and usually contain a lesson I can benefit from. So is the story of Ramiro. He came from Cuba in 1980 and soon moved to New York, where he was living on September 11, 2001. Ramiro worked shining shoes in one of the towers; he bragged that his nickname was "El Rey Del Brillo". When the planes hit the towers he tried to help people but as he was going up the stairs he was drenched with fuel and ammonia. As a result his eyes were burned, rendering him blind for the rest of his life.
His lesson in life is ATTITUDE. At eighty years of age and blind, he still has an amazing positive attitude. He just moved to Miami because at his age N.Y. is getting to cold. He joked around saying he is related to Celia Cruz and showed me how well he danced and sang. He asked for help getting his Walkman to work and a dollar for coffee. He rejected any other help and simply asked to take him to a wall so he can feel his way back to Flagler Street.
Today, I will not focus on the negative. My attitude will remain positive and I will joke around just like Ramiro.
