Elouterio

For those of you who know the area of N.W. 27th Avenue and the Miami River, in Miami, you must know or have seen Paradise Trailer Park at the edge of South River Drive on the Miami River.  It is infested with criminals and drug users.  Most of the crime affecting the neighborhood of Flagami somehow derives from this trailer park

If you have driven by this area lately, you will notice that most of the trailers have been demolished.  The Miami Police Department has been working with the State Attorney's Office and other City of Miami agencies to finally rid Miami of this trailer park.  But, not everyone who lives there is a criminal.

Elouterio is one of the few good citizens of Paradise Trailer Park.  He is 90 years old (2015) and has resided there, in his makeshift home for 27 years.  Unfortunately, his trailer is a fire hazard.  He is now facing the possibility of loosing what he calls home.  At 90, all he can compare this situation with is when he was a First Lieutenant in Cuba's Army (seen in the photos with his ranks which once adorned his uniform) and Fidel Castro took power.  He recalled how Fidel's people came to his farm and took all his cows. The Miami Police Department is working on finding him somewhere to live, but he refuses to abandon what he built and calls home.
