BBQ Guy

I seek out roadside food spots everywhere I go. I have found some amazing BBQ this way. While driving through Coconut Grove once, I spotted a gentleman cooking BBQ from the rear of his beat up pickup truck. Although it was raining, I stopped and tried my luck. I was pleasantly surprised. The ribs were good with a mild taste of smoke. The best part was the interaction with the gentleman, he was local to the Grove, but grew up in the Liberty City area of Miami. We spoke about how he started selling BBQ and his story of growing up in Miami. Food and in particular roadside food spots are full of stories and leave me with an insight into how people live and their culture. It opens up a world I usually know nothing about.
